March 2022 Newsletter

Spring is a time of renewal, and just as the trees begin to bud, our students are also flourishing. In the classroom and beyond, growth often comes from taking risks and embracing new possibilities.
Let this season inspire you to step outside your comfort zone. Whether you are a student or a parent, we encourage you to try something new that excites and inspires you!

The 78th annual Winterama festivities and parade took place over the Family Day weekend, and students and staff entered a Burkevale Float with the theme of “Love My Community.” A special thanks goes to Ms. Cameron, Ms. Currie, Ms. Rever, and Ms. Lethbridge for designing the float, as well as to all of the students and families who were a part of the day. The float looked amazing, and we were so proud of its first place finish once again! A huge thank you is also due to Towne Towing in Midland for generously donating the driver, truck, and trailer for the parade.

For the month of February, our school community will focus on the teaching of Courage/Bravery (Aakwa’ode’ewin). We continuously face life with courage, this allows us to use our personal strengths to face difficulties. We can stand tall through adversity, and make positive choices to become better.
